December 14th, 2020, 12:00 AM

UBS Wealth Management USA announced that its financial advisor compensation plan will remain unchanged in 2021, AdvisorHub reported. Consistent with the 2020 payout, advisors at UBS will receive between 28% and 50% of what they produce. Many in the financial industry expect that 2021 payout grids will remain unchanged at most firms.

In 2020, several firms postponed increasing payout hurdles in light of the pandemic. However, UBS opted to raise payout hurdles for its U.S. advisors in 2020. Currently UBS has approximately 6,000 advisors in the U.S.

Several other firms have also recently introduced their 2021 compensation plan, as discussed previously in Financial Advisor Transitions post. Wells Fargo Advisors made a slight increase to its payout hurdles for 2021, and also reinstated a small account penalty for accounts with less than $250,000. Meanwhile, Merrill Lynch announced that its 2021 payout grid will not be changed.
