Schwab Advisor Services and iCapital Network have partnered to launch the Schwab Alternative Marketplace platform, a resource that, according to Financial Advisor magazine, will "create an automated alternative investing process for advisors" and allow advisors to "access private funds provided by third-party platforms."
With this platform, advisors can use alternative investment solutions to customize portfolios, utilize iCapitol's menu of alternative funds, and manage iCapital investments within Schwab client accounts. Additionally, advisors can find research on funds and strategies, investing reporting, and documents related to clients' investments. These features are available with a minimum client investment of $100,000. Custodial fees will be eliminated.
Jalina Kerr, a senior vice president at Schwab Advisor Services, says this partnership between Schwab Advisor Services and iCaptial was created in the hopes to "offer a streamlined way for advisors to deliver alternative investment solutions to their clients."
