Retention Rates Improving At Edward Jones

According to Edward Jones second-quarter report, the company's new model shows improved advisor retention rates. The new model offers advisors flexibility to allow them to share office space, signaling a willingness on the part of Edward Jones to break with its former solo practitioner model.

Through the new model, advisors can co-locate their branches with one or more financial advisors in shared office space while maintaining individual client relationships. Additionally, advisors have the option to expand a variety of branch support roles and choose among a variety of multi-financial advisor team models. 

The model is credited for stemming attrition.  Advisor attrition at Edward Jones decreased to 6 percent at the end of the quarter, compared to 6.6 percent in last year's quarter, according to AdvisorHub.
